In the last entry we saw how our device to play music with Rhythmbox mp3, player default desktop gnome. Today I will explain how to do the same, but from the player's own desktop KDE, l 'Amarok.
Amarok is a delicious player (allow me this personal view). We will see how to copy mp3 files to our device is as easy as with Rhythmbox. If you do not have it installed, you may do so by going to Synaptic (via the menu "System> Administration> Synaptic Package Manager"). From this program, perform a search of the package name "esd" and install it.
To open Amarok, you must go to menu Applications> Sound & Video> Amarok. To work with mp3 devices (both MTP and iPod), Amarok with no need to install any connectors or anything there (with Rhythmbox does it needed to install some plugins). The Amarok will detect the device connected directly to the computer, and show us the power to directly play the music there.

Mp3 device detected by Amarok
With Amarok, copying music to the device can not be done with the method of selecting and dragging (like we did with the shirts), but you must select the song (or artist, or album) that we copy, click on the right button and select "Copy to Collection> The name of our device."

Copying an album to mp3 device
It must be said that these instructions are for version 2.2 of Amarok (which you can install Ubuntu Kármico, for example). Since Amarok 1.4, every new version has a new method of copying files to mp3 devices. I find that the current method is very good and simple and just added the ability to select the device and drag the songs you want to copy.

Share your opinion without doubt the best player of music files.
certainly the comperteixo your opinion and I think is the best music players.
But let me make one small comment about the new version, you will not pass it, but I do not s'em downloading the lyrics of songs, which happened with the old version. Is there any way to fix this?
thanks
Hi, Joan.
Neither I had posted, so do not use the connector letters.
Apparently, such comment does not work. I found the solution here: http://www.linuxboricua.com/?p=3405
Basically, this is going to:
http://www.kde-apps.org/content/show.php/Ultimate+Lyrics?content=108967
Download the plugin there (called Ultimate Lyrics). From Amarok, go to Tools> Script Manager. Click "Install Script" and select the downloaded file. Then you must restart Amarok, go back to the Script Manager, disable the "LyricWiki" and enable "Ultimate Lyrics. I've tried, and it works.
Cheers
Many thanks, you're a crack
